Our team brings together all the stuff we learnt at IIT Madras, Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) and Stanford Business School, and while working at MNCs like Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and the Boston Consulting Group.

WE LOVE THE INTERNET. WE LOVE SIMPLICITY.

We don't like inflexible systems (like late fines and due dates).

We are not fond of traffic on the crowded roads of Chennai,
the dug-up roads of Bangalore, the long roads of Mumbai,
the still roads of Kolkata, the angry roads of New Delhi,
and the confused roads of Hyderabad. Or anywhere else.

Which is why we love home-delivery.

LIBRARIANS

We share a part of our lives with our librarians. We tell them what we read. They know what we like, what we don't like. Occasionally we even let them choose books for us. Wouldn't you like to know who your librarians are? What they read? What they like, what they don't like? Whether they are worthy of sharing a part of our lives with?

STORYTELLERS

In the silence of a book, there is adventure and excitement. For, the written word has life. It can run. It can fly. Our team of storytellers are trained to chase the written word and give it a voice. We work with libraries, schools and activity centers. We tell stories to children of all ages. We even tell stories to adults, because some stories can't be told to children.

Book reading competes with sports, TV, movies, mp3, SMS, IM, IPL, FIFA, Playstation, Xbox, etc for a child's time and attention. While these items are heavily advertised, one doesn't see much marketing done to influence children to read a book.

The iloveread'in Library's special program for schools -- Book Lover's Program for Schools (BLPS) -- is designed to influence children positively to pick up reading as a habit. This positive influence is done via storytelling, book-reading, discussions, debates, writing workshops, theatre and a host of other activities. According to recorded data, the number of students borrowing books voluntarily from the school library has jumped to 78% after implementation of BLPS.

The program is delivered to the school via a mix of teacher-training, customized modules and some demonstration classes. The program operates from class 1 to class 8. Client schools include prestigious schools such as P S Senior (Mylapore, Chennai), Chettinad Harishree Vidyashram (R A Puram, Chennai) and Riverside Public School (Kotagiri, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu)
